The Story
From the very beginning “Blue Highway Blues ” had all the elements of a typical difficult birth. From writers block to frustration to pure joy and relief when a perfect word or phrase was created.
From an idea conceived by Jan Mataboer —The Netherland’s the original conception called “Driftin On” through multipile changes and Emails back and forth to co writer Keith Totton in Vancouver USA. The song began to come to life
The song .Just did not seem to be what Jan was looking for.
After several changes by both men and many more Emails the original title was changed to “To Weak To Go On” . A line taken from one of many changes to the song.
It was at this point that both writers realized this just had to be a ”blues” song
And again after many emails the title “Blue Highway Blues” taken from a line in another rewrite seemed to be perfect.
With this title came new inspiration and direction for the final lyric.
Enter now Gerry Peters of MidiMagic Studios in Nasville Tennesee with his truly magic touch, giving the song it’s final tweaking and adding the fine vocals of Rich Griffin (who by the way also plays a mean sax) to the song.
