David James

Biography

David James was born in Marin County, California. He spent most of his growing-up years around the Sacramento area. As a musician he played the 12-string guitar and Hammered Dulcimer.

David had been a member of a few bands during his high school years. In his freshman year in Live Oak, California, he played guitar in his first band with long-time friend Ike Travis.

In his senior year he was lead singer for a three piece group called “Button Willow”, which included Fred and Scott Meyer. He was also lead singer for another group called “Apogee”

With his friends Larry Jasmann and David Corum.

During his early adult life, he could be found performing at outdoor cafes and local lounges on weekends in the Auburn California area.

His major influences were Cat Stevens, Neil Diamond, Santana and The Eagles. It was not until the early 90’s that he started writing is own songs
